RESULTS: Juggernaut Dominates In Vancouver!
After the brutal three-way dance for the NWA Canadian heavyweight title in Surrey, Juggernaut was itching to get another piece of Sid Sylum! Last Saturday night in Vancouver, Juggernaut got everything he wanted and then some - and the fans at the Russian Community Centre also got a reminder of why Juggernaut is one of the sickest and most feared competitors in the history of ECCW! Even The Natural was not immune to Juggernaut's onslaught, as he was busted open immediately with a vicious chairshot! Sylum and Juggernaut battered and bloodied each other throughout the Russian Community Centre, sending even fans scattering for cover! Juggernaut nearly crushed Sylum with a huge legdrop off the stage through a table, but back inside the ring, Sylum pulled the referee into the way of a sickening chairshot by Juggernaut! A distracted Juggernaut was left open for several vicious lariats by Sylum, who could not knock the monster down! Juggernaut dodged another lariat attempt and scooped Sylum up, dropping him on his head with the K-Driller and scoring the three-count to cap off a victorious return to Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling!
Before Kenny Lush and "Brilliant" Billy Suede could prepare to face Egos & Icons for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship, both Lush and Suede were attacked not only by Tony Baroni and Jamie Diaz, the two men defending the gold in Vancouver, but by their stablemate Nick Price as well! Lush's main squeeze, Nicole Matthews, came to ringside to attack Price and even up the sides, as the match broke down into chaos before it could even begin! Suede grabbed the microphone and challenged Egos & Icons to a six-person tag team match - Baroni, Diaz and Price against Suede, Lush and Matthews! NWA Pacific Northwest representative Michael Sweetser made the match official, and the contest was underway! After a fantastic back and forth contest with several spectacular maneuvers, Matthews executed her Roll the Dice maneuver on Price to score the surprising victory for her team! Lush, Suede and Matthews celebrated with the NWA/ECCW tag team championship belts as Egos & Icons screamed at Sweetser in protest. Sweetser then announced that due to Matthews not being on the original contract and the match becoming a six-person tag, the belts would remain with Egos & Icons.. but that on Saturday night, March 6th in Vancouver, Egos & Icons would defend the NWA/ECCW tag team championship against Kenny Lush & "Brilliant" Billy Suede... in TLC V! Tables, ladders and chairs will be the name of the game, and whoever is the best tag team in ECCW will have to prove it by climbing the ladder to claim the gold!
Due to the victory by Rick The Weapon X & El Phantasmo in Surrey over The Divine Prophet & Artemis Spencer, as part of a special Saturday Sermon, Artemis Spencer had no choice but to shave off The Divine Prophet's beard! That's not to say that the Church of the Divine Prophecy didn't try everything they could to get out of it, even offering up the tiny goatee of the Tiny Prophet instead! Michael Sweetser, El Phantasmo and Rick The Weapon X stormed to ringside, demanding that the stipulation be upheld! Snipping off a tiny portion of the Divine Prophet's beard didn't count, and even Artemis Spencer faking his own demise didn't get them out of the stipulation. Finally, after Sweetser threatened indefinite suspension of the entire Church, Artemis Spencer did the deed - removing the Divine Prophet's beard once and for all! Rick and Phantasmo celebrated in various ways with the remnants of the beard, sending the Prophet and Spencer into a rage-filled attack on the two of them! Spencer went straight for Rick's leg, nearly snapping it in two with a vicious double-stomp from the top rope onto a chair wrapped around the leg! Rick the Weapon X had obviously suffered a serious injury, but still gutted it out to face Spencer later in the evening. Spencer targeted the leg almost exclusively, and although Rick fought as long as possible with only one good wheel, another double stomp off the top directly onto the knee and a single-leg crab was enough to get the injured Australian to tap out.
Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy thought they'd have a fair shot at beating two men they used to look up to, "Rocket" Randy Tyler & Ladies Choice.. but that was before "The Mayor" Austin Spencer stuck his nose in their business! The Mayor announced that the CAC had ordered that due to infringement upon Randy Tyler - who made a "generous contribution" recently - that Scotty Mac could not use either his springboard dropkick or his superkick, and doing so would risk disqualification! The change definitely changed Scotty's gameplan for the contest, as two of his best weapons were removed from the equation.. but not from Tyler's, as the Sweet Potato Pie by Tyler on Dropkick sealed the victory for the BBC!
The failed attempt to remove El Phantasmo's mask in Surrey didn't stop "Dastardly" Danni Deeds from attempting to complete his mission to unmask the popular Phantasmo, as the two did battle once again in Vancouver! Both the Divine Prophet and Tiny Prophet tried to get involved, sliding a chair to Deeds, but Phantasmo stopped Deeds from using the chair.. then suddenly struck Deeds in the skull with the chair, drawing a disqualification! Deeds won the match, but it appears that Phantasmo won the war, at least on this particular night!
In other action in Vancouver, "The Mayor" Austin Spencer defeated Callos, and AC Zeidel pinned Fast Freddy Funk.
ECCW returns to the Bridgeview Hall in Surrey for our first event in the month of February, on Friday night, February 19th! Already signed is a blockbuster intergender tag team main event, as NWA Canadian heavyweight champion Scotty Mac teams with Tenille Tayla to face the Pop Culture tandem of Bishop and SuperGirls champion Veronika Vice! In addition, Gurv Sihra returns from his recent injury to defend the NWA Canadian junior heavyweight championship against the man he took the title from, Azeem The Dream - and Azeem will try to regain the title by himself, without The Natural in his corner! Tickets are on sale here at ECCW.com right now, so be sure to get your tickets for the next great live event from the top professional wrestling organization in all of Canada, Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling!
RESULTS: A Wild Night In Surrey - Scotty Mac Retains The Gold!
Juggernaut's return to Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling was everything the fans could hope for - complete and utter chaos and destruction! However, when the smoke cleared, despite the best efforts of Juggernaut and Sid Sylum, Scotty Mac limped out of the triple threat match with the NWA Canadian heavyweight title still around his waist! The match saw weapons and brawling aplenty, with all three men even making their way through the raucous crowd and outside the Bridgeview Hall, ramming each other into the ring truck! Even the Natural was not immune, as Juggernaut powerbombed Scotty over the top rope on top of Natural on the arena floor! The referee was taken out of the match by an errant baseball slide by Scotty, leaving the match without a referee. Sylum chaired Juggernaut, which couldn't take him down, only for Scotty's famed superkick to finally take down the monster! Sylum went for a chairshot on Scotty to take him out, only to eat a superkick of his own, as Scotty scored the pin to retain the NWA Canadian heavyweight title!
After the match, Juggernaut congratulated Scotty for the victory, and made it clear he still wanted a piece of Sid Sylum and The Natural, which will happen one on one - Sid Sylum vs. Juggernaut - tonight in Vancouver!
Two prized possessions were on the line as Artemis Spencer & The Divine Prophet took on El Phantasmo & Rick The Weapon X - if Phantasmo and Rick lost, Phantasmo would be unmasked, but if Spencer and Prophet lost, the divine beard of the Divine Prophet would be shaved off! Artemis and Prophet used their chicanery and doubleteaming to attack Rick's knee, and to keep Phantasmo isolated during the contest. Both Rick and Phantasmo fought back as the match degenerated into a four-way brawl in and out of the ring! Prophet executed his praying neckbreaker on Phantasmo, only for "Dastardly" Danni Deeds to demand that Prophet remove Phantasmo's mask right then and there! As Prophet went for the mask, Phantasmo rolled him up.. but as Prophet kicked out of the pin, he succeeded in tearing Phantasmo's mask off! Phantasmo leapt out of the ring and covered up his face, as Rick nailed Prophet from behind and knocked him out of the ring. Spencer tried a rollup, only to be reversed by Rick and schoolboyed for the pinfall! Phantasmo regained his mask shortly after, but Prophet will not be so lucky - tonight in Vancouver on the Saturday Sermon, The Divine Prophet will have his beard shaved off!
SuperGirls champion Veronika Vice strolled into the ring with her Pop Culture cohort, Bishop, to defend the title against former champion Tenille Tayla in Surrey. Tenille was focused on regaining the title that Bishop and Veronika had sotlen from her, but as Tenille had the match in control, Veronika desperately struck Tenille in the face with the championship belt, drawing a disqualification, but retaining the championship. An angered Tenille went after Veronika, only for Scotty Mac to make the save.. and for Moondog Manson to attack the ECCW Hardcore champion from behind as he and Veronika tried to escape! As Manson held court in the ring, Scotty challenged the Pop Culture members to an intergender tag team match on Friday night, February 19th in Surrey - Scotty Mac & Tenille Tayla against Bishop & Veronika Vice!
Bishop's night was not over, as he then defended the ECCW Hardcore title against Moondog Manson in a wild and bloody affair! As the two tore into each other, Manson called a halt to the contest, and demanded that Bishop face him in his specialty - a drinking contest! Bishop was ill-equipped to face the former champion in this special diversion, and the Crown Royal quickly got to him - to the point that Manson scored with a vicious piledriver to score the three-count and regain the ECCW Hardcore championship for an unprecedented eleventh time!
NWA Canadian junior heavyweight champion Gurv Sihra addressed the Surrey faithful, speaking of his recent shoulder injury, and speaking of the prestige of the NWA Canadian junior heavyweight championship, talking of the great wrestlers that held it in the past - only to be interrupted by his arch-nemesis, former champion Azeem The Dream! Azeem made it clear to Sihra that once he was healthy, his first defense would be against Azeem - and Azeem would make it his *last* defense as well!
One night before they would clash for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship, Tony Baroni and Kenny Lush went one on one in Surrey, and wowed the crowd with a fantastic matchup! NWA Pacific Northwest representative Michael Sweetser had banned Egos & Icons from ringside, leaving it up to Baroni to step up against the Loose Cannon, which he did with gusto! Both men unleashed their best moves, only for the other to get out at the last second! In the end, it was Lush's 100 Mile Driver that crowned Baroni and gave Lush the pinfall victory, but Lush knew he had been in a war.. and that he and NWA/ECCW Champion "Brilliant" Billy Suede would be in an even bigger war tonight in Vancouver, as they challenge Egos & Icons for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship!
Since joining Pop Culture, Volt Vegas has had a different swagger to his step and a different attitude. With his leader Bishop looking on, Vegas had a new name as well - but before he could announce what that would be, he was interrupted by Memphis! Bishop and Vegas offered a spot in Pop Culture to the former two-time NWA/ECCW Champion, but Memphis would have none of it, as he attacked Vegas to start the contest! Vegas kept up with Memphis for the majority of the match, but Memphis showed the fortitude that made him one of the fightingest NWA/ECCW Champions in history, finally dropping Vegas with the lungblower to score the pinfall! Memphis had no time to celebrate, as Bishop and Vegas attacked him after the match, dropping him with a vicious double-team! Bishop made it clear that Memphis turning them down was a mistake he would live to regret!
In other action in Surrey, Azeem The Dream pinned Ray Brooks, and the interference of Egos & Icons member Nick Price allowed Jamie Diaz to score a victory over Junior.
ECCW returns to the Russian Community Centre in Vancouver TONIGHT! An 8 PM bell time, with doors opening at 7:30 PM, will see Egos & Icons defend the NWA/ECCW tag team championship against the team they won the belts from, the team of Kenny Lush and NWA/ECCW Champion "Brilliant" Billy Suede! The legendary Juggernaut will go one on one with Sid Sylum! The Divine Prophecy's greatest pupil, Artemis Spencer, will square off against Australian sensation Rick The Weapon X! It'll be no disqualification as the BBC - Ladies Choice & "Rocket" Randy Tyler - face the team of Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy in a battle for respect in ECCW! "Dastardly" Danni Deeds will once again try to remove the mask of El Phantasmo.. but it'll be curtains for the Divine Prophet, who will have no choice but to lose his prized beard in the Saturday Sermon!
All this and more is coming at you TONIGHT at the Russian Community Centre in Vancouver! Tickets are on sale here at ECCW.com and at the door tonight! Get your tickets now for the best professional wrestling action in Canada - Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling!
THIS WEEKEND: A Wild Weekend of Wrestling In Surrey and Vancouver!
NWA CANADIAN HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Scotty Mac (Champion) vs. Sid Sylum (Challenger) vs. Juggernaut (Challenger)
Ever since the destruction of Chill Town, and the events of TLC 4-WAY and Halloween Hell last year, Sid Sylum has been itching for another chance at his former leader Scotty Mac, and more importantly, Scotty Mac's NWA Canadian heavyweight championship. And after finishing as the runner-up in the Extreme Rules Rumble and defeating Memphis last month in Surrey, Sylum has earned his title shot once again - but a wrench has been thrown in the works. A 400-pound wrench, by the name of the unstoppable Juggernaut! Juggernaut made his shocking return to ECCW recently, and wasted no time in making his presence felt, dropping Sylum's associate Azeem The Dream right on his big head!
This Friday night, Juggernaut makes his in-ring return to Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling, and the six-time NWA/ECCW Champion wants his first NWA Canadian heavyweight championship! Can Sylum stay out of Juggernaut's way long enough to finally best his mentor and take home the gold himself? Or will Scotty Mac find yet another way to survive two of his toughest challengers to date, and keep the longest Canadian heavyweight championship reign in National Wrestling Alliance history rolling on? We'll find the answers to these questions this Friday night in Surrey!
SUPERGIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP
Veronika Vice (Champion) vs. Tenille Tayla (Challenger)
Another superstar returning to ECCW is a SuperGirl - and a former SuperGirls champion, as Tenille Tayla returns to ECCW this Friday night in Surrey! Just like Juggernaut, Tenille is not wasting any time, as she wants to take back the title she feels was unfairly taken from her - the SuperGirls championship, held by Pop Culture member Veronika Vice! It took the combined efforts of Veronika and her Pop Culture cohort Bishop to take the belt from Tenille two months ago, but this time, Tenille says she will make sure it's one on one - and will also make sure to silence Veronika once and for all by taking back the SuperGirls championship!
THE DIVINE PROPHET'S BEARD VS. EL PHANTASMO'S MASK
Artemis Spencer & The Divine Prophet vs. El Phantasmo & Rick The Weapon X
El Phantasmo's battle against the Church of the Divine Prophecy is now a two-man affair, with the surprising return of Rick The Weapon X to ECCW! Both Phantasmo and Rick want to take down the Divine Prophet and his prodigal student, Artemis Spencer, and will get the chance to do so this Friday night in Surrey! However, more than a tag team victory is on the line this Friday night - both the fabled mask of El Phantasmo and the luxurious beard of the Divine Prophet are on the line! Depending which team is victorious, either El Phantasmo will lose his mask or The Divine Prophet's beard will be shaved off the next night in Vancouver as part of the Prophet's Saturday Sermon! After this weekend of action, either El Phantasmo or the Divine Prophet will never be the same again!
ECCW HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP
Bishop (Champion) vs. Moondog Manson (Challenger)
Bishop brought championship gold back to Pop Culture at Halloween Hell, when he entered himself into Moondog Manson's Hardcore Invitational and won the championship! However, Bishop did not pin Manson to win the ECCW Hardcore championship, and Manson has demanded a rematch! The two men will do battle for the ECCW Hardcore title this Friday night, with Manson looking for a record eleventh championship reign!
Tony Baroni vs. Kenny Lush
One night before they do battle for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship, Tony Baroni and Kenny Lush will square off one on one in Surrey! After the actions of Egos & Icons against Lush's main squeeze, Nicole Matthews, and especially after the championship encounter earlier this month in Vancouver, you can bet Lush is looking to extract a measure of revenge against the cocky Baroni! One of these two men will gain important momentum going into Saturday night's championship encounter - which one will it be?
Volt Vegas vs. Memphis
The newest member of Pop Culture, Volt Vegas, has been on a quest to prove himself worthy of the group and worthy of respect in ECCW! This Friday, he has the chance he's been waiting for, as he will be stepping into the ring against former two-time NWA/ECCW Champion Memphis! But he'll be facing an angry Memphis - a Memphis that wants a shot at what he still feels is his title, and will go through anybody to get it! Vegas is confident that he can take out Memphis on his way to the top.. but is he underestimating the former champion?
NWA/ECCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Egos & Icons (Champions) vs. Kenny Lush & "Brilliant" Billy Suede (Challengers)
Saturday night, January 30th in Vancouver will see the third encounter between Egos & Icons and the team of Kenny Lush and "Brilliant" Billy Suede, and for the third time, the NWA/ECCW tag team championship will be at stake! The two teams met in the finals of the NWA/ECCW tag team championship tournament last year, with Suede and Lush scoring the victory - only for Egos & Icons to quickly bounce back and win the gold for the first time in the rematch! This will be the rubber match, and one team will finally emerge victorious in what is sure to be a fantastic matchup! Which team will walk out of Vancouver with not only bragging rights, but the NWA/ECCW tag team championship?
Artemis Spencer vs. Rick The Weapon X
When Rick The Weapon X returned to Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling, he picked up right where he left off - aimed dead center at the Church of the Divine Prophecy! This Saturday night, Rick steps into the ring in singles action against the crown jewel of the Prophecy, former NWA Canadian junior heavyweight champion Artemis Spencer! Championship contention is on the line in this contest, as the winner will surely be in line for a title shot! Will Artemis Spencer prove that the way of the Prophecy is the correct path, or will the fiery Australian take his first step in taking down the Prophecy once and for all?
NO DISQUALIFICATION TAG TEAM REMATCH
Ladies Choice & "Rocket" Randy Tyler vs. Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy
It started as a matter of respect, but now it's become personal between four men that will go down in ECCW history! Ladies Choice & "Rocket" Randy Tyler took what was meant as a show of respect by Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy, and turned it into a sneak attack - and last time in Vancouver, a vicious beatdown, with the apparent aid of Sid Sylum! This Saturday night, the BBC square off against Scotty and Dropkick, but this time, there will be no disqualifications! Which team will emerge victorious in this violent war.. and will Sid Sylum play a part in the outcome once again?
El Phantasmo vs. "Dastardly" Danni Deeds
With both the monstrous Cremator and the Church of the Divine Prophecy supporting him, "Dastardly" Danni Deeds has become more dangerous than ever - and he will once again attempt to end El Phantasmo's career as they square off this Saturday night! Deeds has vowed to remove Phantasmo's mask and end his career. Will Saturday night see both the unmasking of El Phantasmo *and* the end of his career? We'll know the answer to both before this weekend is out, and for Phantasmo's sake, the answer had better be no!
Two fantastic nights of wrestling action will be held this Friday night in Surrey at the Bridgeview Hall, and this Saturday night at the Russian Community Center in Vancouver! Come see all the great ECCW stars this weekend! Tickets are on sale here at ECCW.com right now in the merchandise section! You've seen the rest, now come see the true all stars of Canadian wrestling action, from Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling - accept no substitutes!
RESULTS: Suede Retains Over Diaz, Egos Deflated!
Just when it looked like things would quiet down between NWA/ECCW tag team champions Egos & Icons and the former champions, Kenny Lush & "Brilliant" Billy Suede, it's heated up more than before, as Jamie Diaz challenged "Brilliant" Billy Suede for Suede's NWA/ECCW Championship in Vancouver! With just two years' pro experience, this was Diaz's first chance at bringing the gold to Egos & Icons, and Suede made sure right away that Diaz would not succeed, nearly snapping his neck in two with a vicious back suplex that landed the cocky sophomore star right on his head! Suede targeted the head and neck with attack after attack, but Diaz continued to fight on, even striking Suede with his vaunted scissors kick! But it wasn't enough, and a Canadian Destroyer followed by Suede's deadly Shiranui sealed the victory for Suede, who retained the NWA/ECCW Championship over a very game Diaz!
The night wasn't all downhill for Egos & Icons, but they found themselves in almost more than they could handle, as Tony Baroni and Nick Price accepted Kenny Lush's impromptu challenge to make their intergender match against Lush and his main squeeze, Nicole Matthews, into an NWA/ECCW tag team championship defense! Nicole struck both Baroni and Price hard and fast with vicious forearms, taking both off their feet! Matthews and Lush had several near-falls during the contest, only coming a scant second away from the first intergender tag team championship pairing in ECCW history, but they didn't account for the depths that Egos & Icons would stoop to to regain the gold! Diaz planted a big kiss on Nicole and was slapped across the face for the trouble, but it gave Price the opening he needed to roll up Nicole and use the ropes for leverage for the pinfall to retain the gold!
You can bet that Lush still wants the NWA/ECCW tag team championship back, and he and Suede have exercised their rematch clause for Saturday night, January 30th in Vancouver, as they will challenge Egos & Icons in a return bout for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship!
The Divine Prophet has seen the need to attempt to provide salvation to those in ECCW, and with the debut of the Saturday Sermon in Vancouver, he did just that, providing an outlet for the stars of ECCW to confess their sins! First up were Egos & Icons, as they confessed their penchant for rulebreaking, debauchery.. and even Price's impure thoughts toward Mother Diaz, much to Jamie's shock! Fast Freddy Funk admitted that he wasn't really all that fast, and was angered when Prophet ridiculed him for the admission! Then, the Sermon was brought to a screeching halt.. by the shocking return of Rick The Weapon X to ECCW! Rick's final match in ECCW six months ago was against the Prophet, and Rick wanted another chance at the leader of The Church of the Divine Prophecy, goading him on into accepting his challenge, but not until claiming that his beard was better than the Prophet's! The two men briefly battled, with Rick gaining the upper hand!
An angry Prophet later stepped into the ring against El Phantasmo, in what was said to be the best match of the evening! Prophet's cohorts in the Prophecy, Artemis Spencer and "Dastardly" Danni Deeds, stayed at ringside to make their presence felt, trying to turn the battle in the favor of their leader! Phantasmo seemed to have the match won, but instead, decided to try to equalize the bout by diving onto Spencer and Deeds! However, once Phantasmo reentered the ring, Prophet spit his Holy Tears into Phantasmo's eyes, then followed up with his praying neckbreaker for the upset victory! The Church attacked Phantasmo like a pack of rabid dogs, only for Rick The Weapon X to make the save with a steel chair, including a crowning shot to Artemis Spencer! Rick The Weapon X and El Phantasmo have formed a bond with one common goal - the destruction of the Church!
One misunderstanding has led to a battle between the BBC and Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy, culminating in an epic tag team encounter in Vancouver! A classic back and forth match saw Scotty Mac with the advantage over the team of Ladies Choice & "Rocket" Randy Tyler.. only for Sid Sylum to attack Scotty out of nowhere, trying to weaken him for the triple threat match on January 29th in Surrey, to make it easier to capture the NWA Canadian heavyweight championship! The disqualification was called for by the official, but the BBC took advantage of the attack, driving Dropkick Murphy into the mat with a devastating spike piledriver and leaving Scotty and Dropkick laying! Sid Sylum and the Natural have made it clear that they're taking the NWA Canadian heavyweight championship.. but is there an alliance between Sylum and the BBC?
For months, Memphis has had to deal with his lying, cheating brother MR2, and in Vancouver, he proposed a way to end their struggle once and for all - the winner of the tag team match between Memphis & Pete Powers and MR2 and his bodyguard AC Zeidel would finally hear from the loser that they are the better brother! MR2 accepted, leading even more importance to their tag team encounter! Memphis and Powers emerged victorious, and MR2 finally had no choice but to admit that Memphis was the superior brother!
In other action from Vancouver, Cremator continued his dominance over the ECCW hardcore division, defeating BJ Laredo; Fast Freddy Funk defeated "The Mayor" Austin Spencer; and the Church duo of Artemis Spencer & "Dastardly" Danni Deeds emerged victorious over Ray Brooks & Scott Steel.
He's BACK! Juggernaut makes his in-ring return to Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling on Friday night, January 29th at the Bridgeview Hall in Surrey, and Saturday night, January 30th at the Russian Community Centre in Vancouver! On January 29th, the NWA Canadian heavyweight championship is on the line in a brutal triple threat match, as Scotty Mac defends the gold against both Sid Sylum and Juggernaut! In a return bout for the SuperGirls championship, former champion Tenille Tayla challenges Veronika Vice! And with both El Phantasmo's mask and The Divine Prophet's beard on the line, who will emerge the winner as Phantasmo and Rick The Weapon X square off against The Divine Prophet & Artemis Spencer?
The next night in Vancouver, Juggernaut will blast his way into the Russian Community Centre, and woe be to any ECCW stars that get in his way! In addition, Egos & Icons defend the NWA/ECCW tag team championship against the team of Kenny Lush and NWA/ECCW Champion "Brilliant" Billy Suede, and former NWA Canadian junior heavyweight champion Artemis Spencer goes one on one with the returning Rick The Weapon X!
Tickets to both of these amazing events are available right now here on ECCW.com! Don't miss the end of a scorching January from the number one wrestling promotion in not only British Columbia, but all of Canada - Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling!
Mike's Blog - 12/28/2009 - The Good, The Bad, And The New Year

Let's start with the bad news first.
Due to the actions taken at Season's Beatings on December 18th, including blatantly and knowingly attacking an official of the National Wrestling Alliance (namely, myself), Mr. Rollins' competitor's contract with Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling has been terminated, effective immediately.
The attack on myself by Skag Rollins caused a contusion on my head from the chairshot, as well as three cracked ribs, as diagnosed by doctors at the Sports Medicine Clinic in Seattle. I have been advised to take time off from live ECCW events in order to recuperate, and as I was already working to heal a sprained medial collateral ligament injury stemming from previous events, I've decided to listen to the doctors and will be taking approximately 1-2 months off, depending on how fast my injuries heal. I will be meeting this week with NWA and ECCW officials later this week regarding any administrative duties that will need to be reassigned during my recuperation.
Looking forward, ECCW will be starting off 2010 with an event on January 2nd at the Russian Community Centre in Vancouver, which will be headlined by Egos & Icons' Jamie Diaz challenging "Brilliant" Billy Suede for the NWA/ECCW Championship. Diaz made the challenge after Season's Beatings to Suede, stemming from Diaz and Baroni defeating Suede and Kenny Lush for the NWA/ECCW tag team championship, which saw Diaz score the deciding pinfall on Suede. Suede was more than happy to accept the challenge.
The remaining two members of Egos & Icons, Tony Baroni and Nick Price, will be facing the mixed team of Kenny Lush & Nicole Matthews in a match demanded by Lush and Matthews, after how Egos & Icons harassed Matthews the last time ECCW was in Vancouver. The match is a non-title event due to its intergender nature.. but wouldn't it be interesting if Lush and Matthews scored a victory over the reigning NWA/ECCW tag team champions?
Speaking of events in Vancouver, two of the greatest teams in ECCW history will also face off on January 2nd, as Scotty Mac & Dropkick Murphy go up against Ladies Choice & "Rocket" Randy Tyler. From a wrestling perspective, this will be a fantastic match between two teams with a multitude of ECCW and NWA championship reigns between them.. and from a personal perspective, it'll let them get their frustrations out regarding what they each see as a lack of respect from the other. As the saying goes, they're not able to get along, so now they're going to get it on!
Two more grudges will hopefully be settled in Vancouver, as after the events at Season's Beatings, El Phantasmo demanded another shot at the Church of the Divine Prophecy, starting at the top with their leader, The Divine Prophet. Also, in tag team action, Memphis & Pete Powers team up for the first time against MR2 and his bodyguard, AC Zeidel. In addition, BJ Laredo has demanded a chance to prove himself to be among the hardest of the hardcores, and he'll get that chance in Vancouver in a hardcore match against Cremator!
Looking ahead to the end of January, there will be a double-header, with two nights of ECCW action on January 29th in Surrey, and the next night, January 30th in Vancouver! The main event in Surrey has already been under some contention with the events of Season's Beatings. Early in the night, I announced that the winner of the main event between Scotty Mac and Skag Rollins would face the returning Juggernaut for the NWA Canadian heavyweight title. However, once again, Mike Democrat went over my head and changed the Sid Sylum vs. Memphis match to be for the number one contendership. Sylum won the contest, and while I'm unhappy with what Democrat did, the stipulation is valid, and to play devil's advocate, I can't argue that Sylum may deserve a title shot after arguably being screwed out of winning the Extreme Rules Rumble by Skag Rollins. However, I've already given Juggernaut my word that he would have the championship match, and I will keep my word and give Sylum his title shot at the same time - by making the main event in Surrey a triple threat match, as Scotty Mac will defend the NWA Canadian heavyweight title against both Sid Sylum and Juggernaut!
More updates will be coming in the days ahead as ECCW blasts its way into the year 2010. From everybody at Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance, thank you to all the fans that have made ECCW the number one wrestling promotion in all of Canada in 2009, with even greatest things to come in 2010!
